Adrian - Co Offaly - Recently undertook training with Jim Betts in Birr. Very happy with my experience. Learned a lot and feel well prepared for the test.
Michael - Co Offaly - Went to Jim Betts for training before my test and found him to be an excellent instructor. He was very focused on the safety aspect first and foremost, and went through all the technical aspects thoroughly and clearly. Added to that he creates a very good atmosphere to learn in, as he is easy to approach with questions, no matter how basic or advanced they may be. After observing me for a short time, he made some suggestions as to how I might improve my riding and it made a huge difference. I'm far more confident on a bike now, and much more aware when I'm out on the road. Would absolutely recommend Jim as an instructor, for both complete beginners looking to start and also seasoned bikers looking to improve.
Martin - Co Laois - I completed the course with Jim Betts from Birr and found it to be excellent. I passed my test first time in Tullamore. Jim's main concern is safety which i found very re-assuring as when i started with him I had very little experience on bikes. He does not rush through and gives as much time as necessary to each requirement of the test, "take as much time as you like" is his way of putting you at ease. I would recommend MRTG, and especially Jim Betts to anyone, for bike training. Thanks Jim.
Brian - Co Offaly - I did a pre-test class with Jim a week before my test. It was useful preparation and Jim appeared knowledgeable on all aspects of biking. I enjoyed the fact that we had the whole day (11am until 4pm) to use and was very economical. I would recommend Jim for test preparation. Cheers Brian.
Russell - Co Galway - Just a quick word to say thanks for the lesson, it helped me understand motorcycling even more thanks to a great instructor.
John - Co Offaly - I contacted Jim Betts earlier this year for lessons for a class A bike. I've all the other licences but this was the one I neglected. I decided on training before getting the bike and found Jim's attitude and knowledge were excellent. I had considered other driving schools but heard about Jim through the grapevine, and all I heard was good. Attitude, knowledge and the ability to impart this knowledge in a calm, relaxed attitude is essential for the student and also is the value for money aspect you do get with Jim. We all know how expensive it can be. I did my test on 17th November but alas failed it, but no worries, reapplied already and back to Jim for pre-test and use of his bike, which the tester doesn't have a fit when he sees. Also took Jim's advice on type of bike I wanted. I wanted a Garda type bike, spoke to Jim about options, went to the UK and bought an '08 Honda Deauville.
Stephen - Co Laois - Went with Jim Betts from Birr. Found him very comfortable and a joy to be with.
Conor - Co Tipperary - It can be a bit of a headache trying to get a full 'A' licence to ride a motorcycle. Most of us already have a full licence for the car. We probably don't feel that motivated to go and do a theory test again and then training and then pay 75 euro for a test and then great I passed the test and whoopee. But that is how I did feel before I went to the MRTG. I contacted Jim Betts in Birr and set up an appointment and negotiated costs. On the day I used Jim's 250cc which was a bit of a come down from a CBR600RR. But I realised it is not about speed it's about enjoying yourself and being confident with the bike, any bike. My attitude towards riding a motorcycle has changed thanks to Jim's style of teaching. He helps you understand stuff about bikes that makes sense and sensible riding techniques for your own safety. I still have some training to do and now I am looking forward to it not like before, it seemed a drag to get training. So hopefully with some more skilled motorcycle training I will be set for my test in 2010 and will be able to enjoy what biking is all about.
Anita - Co Laois - I embarked on my motorbike training last year with Jim Betts. On arrival he was so welcoming and pleasant, he took his time to explain everything to me, I was so nervous. His knowledge was excellent as I bombarded him with questions. That same day he had me out on the bike, where we had radio communication. Jim talked me through every step of the way, made me feel at ease, he understood my limitations and I felt safe. I returned to him again for a refresher course last week as I am now riding my own bike. Again it was wonderful to meet with Jim as I am planning to sit my test in the next month with him, I wanted Jim to point out if I had picked up any bad habits, which I had !!! Again the way he explained things was brilliant and I have since gone away using his knowledge and expertise. I will definitely be returning to Jim. It's such a pity there isn't many more out there like Jim., he is absolutely wonderful.
Chris - Co Tipperary - Monday 27th July I had my Grade 2 training/instruction with Mo Garvey. This was the second occasion that I had training from Mo. I passed my test a year ago and I am certain that Mo's training made that possible. The Grade 2 training was an incredible experience and rarely have I met a more competent professional. Mo has a manner and method that would put any student at ease and her ability to very quickly assess student's attitude and competence is rare. I have been on the road twice since my training and I am amazed at the difference in so many aspects of driving and handling the motorcycle. I plan to do more advanced rider training (after a lot of practice of course!) and no doubt Mo will be up for the challenge.... Many thanks again Mo.
George - Co Galway - Just a quick word to say thanks a million for helping me pass the test at the first attempt. I will continue to put into practice all your valuable advise regarding the importance of correct lane position, braking technique and lane discipline on roundabouts. I look forward to doing the advanced course in the near future.
Eileen - Co Limerick - I recently completed lessons and did my assessment with Mo Garvey of CC Rider Training. I now feel confident enough to ride a motorcycle and apply for full test. I would like to express my satisfaction with the service which Mo provides, not only is she excellent at her job but she has all the skills necessary in order to teach a complete novice...and she has endless patience and a great sense of humour which helps!! I would highly recommend Mo and CC Rider Training.
Suzanne - Co Clare - Instructor was a perfect example of how to ride a bike correctly. She actually practised what she preached, which, while may sound obvious, all instructors don't do! She was patient, clear and encouraging. I totally enjoyed my lessons, as well as learning a lot. Also as a women it was wonderful to be trained by another women - very refreshing. Thank you.
James - Co Cork - Very happy with all aspects. Very handy to have the bike for the test.
Peader - Co Donegal - I did a three hour improver course and I was very happy with the standard. I learned a lot.
Lucy - North Dublin - I found the course excellent. It gave me the confidence to go buy a bike the following week. I look forward to doing more training with you in the future.
Robert - South Dublin - My first circa 8 lessons were at *SM. In the first lesson with the MRTG I learned more than in the previous 8! Has made me a better car driver as well.
Patrick - Co Kildare - Thanks for the prompt assessment report and the general comments, "badly needed at this time in my life". For me it was a real experience in doing the course with you. After so many years of riding a machine and developing habits of my own I was looking forward to doing the course from a safety point of view. Over time I have observed other riders, how they may approach corners, junctions, etc., but I have never been with such a competent rider as yourself who takes in so much as you travel. I thought I took in a lot, but hearing you and what you observed, amazed me. I realized, my attention and observations were very limited, I didn't take in a third of the information you did. I thought I was relatively good at cornering. I may have survived up till now, but my approach has been wrong. I haven't used the road to my best advantage as you have shown me. Overall, the course was excellent, and was presented in a relaxed and thoughtful way by you, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in improving their riding skills and ability, again many thanks.
Max - Co Leitrim - I did my course in Sligo after being on a 125cc for 1 year. I had no initial training when I started on the bike. Because I had picked up quite a few bad habits we spent the lesson doing basic techniques.... Made me realise how unsafe I was. Heard some things from the instructor that I wasn't expecting but appreciated his honesty
Richard - Co Mayo - Found the course to be excellent and value for money plus I have no doubt that without it I would not have passed my test. The instructors tuition was great plus he showed great patience with my "front brake" habit. Thanks for all your help and I will be back for more training.
Des - Co Meath - I found my instructor excellent! I have never drove a motorbike before, but, thanks to him, I got to grips with it very quickly. Hs manner was very professional and courteous. He never lost his cool, even though I made a number of mistakes. He brings an air of calmness with safety the for most to every lesson. I would highly recommend this instructor, he is a gentleman and expert
Gerard - Co Offaly - I found the instructor very informative and was amazed how much I learnt in an afternoon. His easy going approach instantly put me at ease and allowed me to thoroughly enjoy my course. Will be back in spring for an advanced course. Many thanks.
Marc - Co Roscommon - Passed test second time out. I wouldn't have had a hope in hell without the training from the MRTG. It was a great help to hire the bike as I could not do the test on my own bike. I was generally very happy with the service received from the instructor.
Elke - Co Sligo - The instructor not only helped me with basic driving instructions, but also built up my confidence on the motorbike. I not only passed my test, but started to drive better! Thank you!
Liam - Co Tipperary - The instructor is very passionate about driving and it shows with her method of teaching. Informative and relaxed, she was recommended to me by someone at my workplace and I have no hesitation in passing on this good advice to other people who wish to have a good foundation for passing the test.
Emmet - Co Waterford - Clear instruction based on why, when and how behaviours were used. Therefore effortless learning. Enjoyed it immensely. Encouraging but fair and balanced. You won't pass if you are not at the standard.
John - Co Westmeath - Having taken a three hour test preparation with this instructor, I found it very rewarding, when it came to my driving test. He covered everything that I had to do on the test. If I had not done the course I would not have passed.
Aidan - Co Wexford - Very encouraging and patient.
Pat - Co Wicklow - I had never ridden a bike before so I took the beginners day course, the instructor came to my house and at the end of a tiresome but enjoyable day I was riding my bike safely. He covered the route I would use everyday to work as I had intended to use the bike just for commuting, however I'm out practically every weekend since I got it riding on country roads.
